Simply put, a bandsaw is a continuous looping blade driven by motorised wheels. A system of guide rollers and supporting tables firmly secure the material in position. The blade then slowly moves through the steel until the cut is complete.
The semi-automatic bandsaw controller allows adjustments to speed/feed, blade tension, tilt angle and coolant flow, which are imperative for optimal cutting and blade life.
Almost all structural steel shapes can be cut, including tube, pipe, channel, beam, flat bar and angle. Different metal varieties like carbon steel, aluminium, galvanised steel and stainless steel are also suitable for bandsaw cutting. Due to their differing properties, we will select the best-suited blade and tooth arrangement to prevent damage to the machine and material.
