Now That’s a Gate!
The Brief
Not every job starts with a finished file. This customer had a concept — a large format driveway gate featuring a tree of life with birds in flight across the outer panels. Our team developed the CAD drawing collaboratively from their brief, refining the design until it was ready to cut.
The Design
A tree of life centred across four panels, birds dispersing outward across the remaining panels on either side. One cohesive artwork across eight individual panels.
- 8 x 3mm aluminium panels — 908mm x 1360mm
- 100 x 5mm Grade 250 brackets — 25x35mm with hole
- Structural RHS framework — 100x50x3 and 50x25x3
- Overall gate — 7.2 metres wide, 1.4 metres tall
Our Role
Di Candilo Steel City handled all laser cutting from the finalised CAD drawing. The intricate branching geometry and fine bird detail required precision and consistency across all eight panels — exactly what laser cutting delivers.
Fabrication & Installation
Components were passed to our trusted fabrication partners for welding, assembly, and powder coating before delivery and installation via HIAB. The black powder coat finish sets the cut detail off perfectly — crisp, clean, and striking in the Perth sun.
