Curved Steel Garden Bed – Perth Primary School Courtyard
The Brief
Kardan Construction came to Di Candilo Steel City with a concept and a challenge — a curved garden bed and seating structure wrapping an existing tree in a Perth primary school courtyard. No straight lines, no standard cuts. Every section needed to follow a radius before a single weld could happen.
Our Role
Di Candilo Steel City supplied the steel, managed the cutting, and coordinated rolling through our trusted bending partner — all under one sales order. Every section came back to the correct radius, ready for Kardan to weld and install without rework.
The Material
Steel supplied, cut, and rolled to spec across six structural modules and two seating units.
- Main Structure – 100x50x2.5 RHS
- Sitting Structure – 100x50x2.5 RHS
- Middle Reinforcements – 50x50x3 SHS
- Top Bar – 20mm Plate Gr250 cut to shape
- Six structural modules plus two seating modules
Fabrication & Installation
All Bend rolled every curved section to perfection — when Kardan Construction took delivery, the modules went together exactly as designed. All welding, fabrication, and installation was completed on site, with the structure clad in composite decking to finish the garden bed and seating feature around the tree.
