Corten Steel Snake Sculpture
The Brief
Metalcore band I Killed The Prom Queen needed a stage presence that matched their sound. Lords of Steel came to Di Candilo Steel City with a DXF file and a deadline — a full-scale corten steel snake sculpture, laser cut in multiple sections and installed as the centrepiece of a live performance in Perth.

Our Role
Di Candilo Steel City handled all laser cutting from the customer-supplied DXF files. Every part was nested and cut to ensure clean edge quality, accurate geometry, and a seamless fit during assembly. For a sculpture of this nature, precision at the cutting stage is what makes everything downstream possible.
The Material
Corten steel was the right call — structurally strong, and its characteristic weathered finish makes it a natural fit for artistic and architectural work

Why Laser Cutting
Organic curves, complex geometry, multiple interlocking components — this design required a process that doesn’t compromise on accuracy.

Fabrication & Installation
Components were handed to Lords of Steel for welding, assembly, and finishing. The final structure took its place on stage for the I Killed the Prom Queen gig and did exactly what it was built to do.
